(Mom, here's your permission to tell everyone)

Well, most of you that read this blog probably already know, but we wanted to announce that ...

I'M PREGNANT!!!!

We are so excited about starting the next part of our family, and feel like the timing is perfect for us! I'm 12 weeks along and hopefully almost done with the sick part (hopefully - seriously cross your fingers and toes for me). The baby is due on June 1, and we'll find out the gender shortly after Christmas. We'll let you all know when we know!

fun in the sun!

Chad and I have had lots of fun this summer, and we're sad to see it go! We went on vacation to California last month for a family reunion (Disneyland and Oceanside - it was awesome!). Unfortunately, we left around the busiest time at Cinnamon Tree - Check-Outs and Check-Ins! We jumped right back into everything as soon as we got back. Luckily, the busiest part is now over, all the students have started school, and all the deposits are sent back. So I get to breath, but Chad doesn't :( (he just started up full time school again). He's been doing great keeping up on everything, but we definitely are enjoying the time we get to spend together even more than usual. I've been coming up with hobbies to do while he's doing homework. I have practiced a little cooking (it's getting better!) and baking, cleaning (yay!), putting up seasonal decorations (I love Fall decorations!) and I think I will start scrap-booking our wedding pictures.
(When Chad brings his computer home, we'll put up some pictures of some things we did this summer). Happy Fall!

yes it's been a while ...

Shout out to Mom. I'm writing on my blog!

A lot has happened since we last posted, so I thought I'd give a few highlights:

1. I officially graduated from BYU, received my teaching license, wore the cap and gown, and walked to receive my blank diploma folder. It was a really fun weekend and my mom, dad (surprise!), Michelle, and Abby were able to fly out to see it all happen! It was really fun and all the family went to Cracker Barrel to celebrate. Then we had even more food after with the Salt Lake clan. It was awesome!
2. Chad went on his last trade show trip in May (I'm happy for myself and sad for him). He went to Anaheim for a long weekend, and then immediately after, went to South Carolina to do training for new employees there for 2 WEEKS! My mind was pretty set that that would be way too long for me, so we worked out that I would meet him in SC and stay for a long weekend. And we happened to be only 3 hours away from Chad's mission, so we decided to stop by his mission for the weekend and visit people. It was a BLAST! I loved every minute of it, and I finally got to meet all the people he's been talking about! Tennessee is beautiful and I would love to go back and visit again!
3. Chad got promoted! A management position came up at Dentrix (to be a team leader) and he took advantage of the (very rare) opportunity. After 2 interviews and a couple weeks of waiting, we found out he got the job! He's been doing a great job and his boss has told him many times that he is very happy with his decision. I'm so proud of him! He loves going to work, and he's a great leader.
4. I've been working a lot more at Cinnamon Tree, which has been really nice. We've been busy selling Fall/Winter contracts and showing apartments, but I've really enjoyed being more involved (and getting a bigger paycheck, since my Winter hours were pathetic). I also love summer here because Cinnamon Tree has a pool, so we go swimming several times a week.
5. That's about it! We're happy at Cinnamon Tree and we'll probably be here for a few more years. I promise to not wait for 4 months to post again :).

Friday 5+5!

Since I completely blanked last week about adding my 5, I'm doing 10 this week (thus the math problem).

1. The internet has been going out again at our complex. I do not enjoy working with our internet company, because it seems like nothing is ever solved. But Tuesday was one of the busiest internet outage days, and Chad and I left out of town on Wednesday morning, so it was a good time to escape :).
2. Chad is now in the middle of his trade show in Chicago while I am hanging out in Virginia with my sister Michelle, her husband Roy, and their adorable baby (the reason I came) Abby. It's been pretty fun. We've visited DC a couple of times, so I'll put up all those pictures when I'm done taking them!
3. I miss Chad (a lot), but we'll meet up again on Monday morning to spend the rest of our vacation visiting Chad's sister Whitney (and Brandon and another adorable niece Rachel).
4. I hope I'll get a flight voucher from Delta Airlines.
5. It's not very fun to not have my own make-up, clothes, or toothbrush. Michelle was really generous though.
6. Here's the story of our flight: Chad and I checked in one after another and we found out later that the airline guy had put on the wrong tags, so after our flights, Chad picked up my bag and I picked up his. We immediately gave each other's bags to the Baggage Service people, who sent them on their way. Chad picked up his that night, but I flew into Baltimore, so they said it wouldn't be to the DC airport (much closer to Michelle's apartment) until the next morning. I showed up the next morning and the lady told me her records showed it was still in Chicago, but she would send them a message to get it through Atlanta to DC sometime, which was time unspecified. So I called the number she gave me and that told me that my bag was in Baltimore. So then I talked to a representative who said it was en route from CINCINATTI!!! So at this point, I wasn't sure if my bag was lost, or in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, or Cincinatti! I was told to call back and when I did several hours later, I was told I would need to wait until they unloaded the plane to even see if my bag had made it onto the plane! Luckily, Michelle and I had gone to Target and I got new clothes, because I felt so gross after rewearing my airport clothes. The good news is that my bag was on the Cincinatti flight (no idea how it got there) and I got my bag last night. I am now wearing clean clothes that I own. My goodness!
7. Chad got to his hotel and found out that there was some sort of fluke and he ended up with his own hotel room instead of having to share with a roommate. He's on the 29th floor and enjoying all the perks!
8. Abby is so much fun to hang out with. We're still in the warming up stages of our friendship, but we've already established some jokes :). And she's a smart little 1-year-old.
9. I feel like I have done so much in DC, and done so little at the same time. We've seen the Washington Monument and Capitol Building (from a distance), the Department of Treasury (which Roy thought was the White House from the distance until we got up close and saw the sign on it), the George Mason memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Native American museam, the Air and Space museum, and (my favorite) the Metro. We're going to the zoo tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited.
10. I love Chad so much! It's always hard to be away from him (even during the day when he's at work!), but it will be a fun reunion, and I'm excited to tell him about all the stuff I have done. I love you, my schnukums/honey-pie/sweet pea/lover boy/cuteness. Just joking :). I really love you though :)!!!

The Friday Five

1. Chad and I are required by our managing job to put on a Cinnamon Tree activity once a month. This month, we did a ping-pong tournament. Unfortunately, we had some prank sign-ups, so we ended up having 12 participants instead of 20. It ended up being a good turn-out, but Chad and I both had a bit of a freak-out moment before it started. And now we don't have to do anything until next month :).
2. Chad had a big presentation in his business presentation class on Wednesday and he did well! He's glad it's over, but his teacher really liked his idea and this will hopefully contribute some good stuff to his overall grade.
3. I got my frame that I was wanting on my entertainment center - I just need to pick up the pictures tomorrow. I am totally excited about my choice.
4. Tonight we had 5 couples over to our apartment (which is the most we've ever had at this apartment). It was totally fun and we got to know some couples we wouldn't normally hang out with! (And I felt totally popular ... haha).
5. Chad is the coolest husband and we have been together officially for 2 years today (meaning that we started dating on February 13, 2007). He surprised me the other night with some Lindt chocolates (SO good!) and some really nice sheets for our new bedspread (so we'll finally be matching!). I'm excited for Valentine's day!

Shout out to Cami! Hey! Go wisdom teeth! Woo-hoo!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Friday Five!

This week has been fun (and went by really fast!). Here are some of the highlights:

1. I've been trying to figure out for weeks what to put on top of the entertainment center (we got it around Christmas time so we've only had Christmas stuff on it). So I went to Target (thanks to Laura and Chad who came along) and I found what I was looking for! We have some vases with some cute orange Chinese lanturns in them and them I'll put a picture in the middle. I'll post a picture when it's finished.

2. Laura came stay for a couple of nights (always fun) and we decided to go laser tagging. The only other time that I've gone was in high school with a bunch of boys from the band. It wasn't very fun back then. This time, I had a BLAST! Our friends, Blecky (Becky and Blake) came with us too and Becky got first place!

3. We had a basketball night last night. I went to the Moutainview game against Provo High (Alex, my brother-in-law, was coaching), then I met up with Chad at his team's intramural game. The Mountainview game was fun (well, they lost, but I got to talk to Becky, my sister, the whole time) and then Chad's team won! Chad is also a successful coach for his Junior Jazz team - they won this last week and now they are 3 and 1, wins to losses!

4. I got to visit Heidi (my friend and old co-worker at Cinnamon Tree) and her new month-old baby. It was a lot of fun to have some girl fun and just sit and talk (and hold the baby, of course)!

5. I finally finished going through all our wedding photos and picking out all the good ones. Thanks Laura :). They'll all by in albums and frames soon!

Happy Friday!!!!!

Friday Five (my first attempt)

I'm trying out a new thing where I actually write on our blog! Here are the recent highlights of our lives:

1. Chad is the coolest, and surprised me by getting a comforter set that I really wanted. Originally, we talked about how we would get it later on, and then a couple of days later, he said he couldn't wait for me to be surprised and it was on it's way in the mail. Ah - I totally love making the bed now!
2. Chad was unfortunately a little worried about getting the comforter set when he did, because 2 days later, we had somewhat of a freak accident with our car. It's doing fine now, but a tenant was being nice to his friend and decided to pick out (with a hammer and snow shovel) some tracks in the parking lot. The ice was about 6 inches thick at the time, so as we drove out of the parking lot and got stuck (for about an hour, until we gave up and called a tow truck). It punctured a big hole in the oil pan and oil went everywhere. The tenant was really nice about it, but we were pretty bummed ... well annoyed ... more like angry, for a while.
3. We tasted sour (very sour) milk for the first time the other day because our fridge broke! And right after I cleaned it too! We had to throw away some things, but now we're getting a brand new fridge next week. Yay!

4. For those that haven't heard, a couple of weeks ago, Chad was playing basketball with his little brother's team (he's their coach), and his left knee got knocked by a player (which knocked out his knee cap), and then he fell back and broke his wrist. He's doing physical therapy with his knee and has a long-arm cast on his right arm. The good news is he gets a short arm cast next Tuesday (and he is so excited!!!). We've become a pretty good team lately.
5. Chad will be going to Chicago in a few weeks for another trade show. We originally planned for me to meet him for his last 2 days there and visit his sister. Then we found an awesome flight, so now I will be flying to DC at the same time he leaves and I get to hang out with Michelle (my sister) for a week! It worked out so perfectly and I'm so excited to finally visit Michelle (and then I'll be having fun while he's having fun, instead of staying home by myself)!

6. Okay, so I actually have 6 things. At Chad's work, he's been working with a dentist's office closely for a long while now and has developed a good working relationship with a lot of the employees there. In my opinion, he's basically a totally rockin' support technician. Anyway, they surprised him this week by all pitching in to get him his dream digital camera! It's definitely his new toy and he shows me several new features every day. Here it is:

Sunday, November 30, 2008

A while ago, Chad got an extra job with his company to go to trade shows for Dentrix. Well, the last couple of months I've been excited for him and so nervous about being away from him for so long. Now the time is here and he's been gone in New York for 3 days now. I'm so excited for him to be there, but I'm also so ready for him to come back! Luckily, my sister has taken pity and I'm staying at her house for 2 nights so I don't have to be by myself. I've been trying to stay busy (I finished my portfolio for student teaching, which took quite a while), but now I am counting down the hours (about 96 to go!). Anyway, just thought I'd post that my husband is SO cool for getting this trade show job, but also SO cool for not leaving me again for 3 more months :). Come home Chad!

Sunday, November 9, 2008

Well, as Chad would say, I'm a poop. I haven't written in our blog for a while, but I wanted to talk about our most recent events. First of all, for my birthday, Chad surprised me with a 2-night stay at a hotel suite in Park City! It was the best birthday present EVER! We went to the Olympic Park, went swimming/hot tubbing, watched movies and relaxed, walked up and down main street, and went to the Chocolate Factory. It was a wonderful, relaxing, exciting vacation! And Chad also totally overdid himself (which I was okay with).
Both of us are really excited to be done with this semester! I just figured out that I only have 21 more days of Student Teaching, finals week, then I will be an official graduate of BYU! I am so excited!! After graduating, I'll be working in the Cinnamon Tree office and Chad will once again do another semester of full time work and school. It's hard, but we know it will all be worth it. Someday ... A little further away then I'd prefer ... :).
So we're busy but today we are making cookies and watching some good movies and taking a nap and enjoying ... doing nothing! Yay!

New Couches!!

Last weekend we got new Couches! We love them, we got them for a great deal at I.M. Home Furnature. Great store...highly recommended. They are microfiber and very comfortable. We used to have a really old couch and chair in our living room and there was just not enough room to sit whenever we had people over, so this is a huge upgrade. Anyway, we love them and we want to have parties now....I am thinking BYU games....

On another note, I got a promotion at work this week! Woo hoo! I am still doing support for dentrix, I just have more responsibilities now and more pay too. :)

SCHOOL......

Well, it has been a while, and we have homework coming out of our ears! Cindy is doing her student teaching at Berrett Elementary in American Fork and I am doing School full-time and Work full-time. All of that together means a lot of homework and not a lot of time to do it. but I feel like I am staying on top of that. I am at the Library a lot.

Being the resident Managers at Cinnamon Tree has been going good. Cindy hardly ever works in the office anymore, and will start back up with that when she is done with her student teaching.

My Brother Kyle has been on his mission for a couple of months now and he is doing good. He got called to the Arkansas Little Rock Mission. His first area is actually in Cordova, Tennessee!!! I served in Knoxville, TN, so that is exciting!

Cindy's Mom, Linda, came and visited last week. It was a lot of fun. We went to the BYU game and watched the Coug's destroy UCLA! (My face is still peeling from the sunburn that I got from that game! ha ha) Then we went to Becky and Alex's house for Sunday dinner and played some games. Her stay was short lived, but we had fun.

Whitney, Brandon, and Rachel are also in town this month for a while. We had them and Cade over for dinner last week. I need to go and get to know my niece Rachel! I feel bad, but I have probably only held her twice. I am just so busy!

Anyway, that is what is going on.

Meet Dave

Cindy and I went on a date last night and saw the movie, "Meet Dave" in the Dollar Theater. The previews made it look dumb, but both of us thought it was way funny and would highly recommend it! Eddie Murphy is hilarious in it. You should all go see it..........what are you waiting for?

Cinnamon Tree

Well, it has been a while and we have been busy! First of all, a few weeks ago we moved a few blocks away to Cinnamon Tree Apartments, where we first met! We are the new Resident Managers here. It is a complex for Single Students and we take phone calls before and after office hours and take care of questions or problems. It is a great deal because they give us free rent, utilities, internet and cable! We have check-ins and check-outs coming up, so we are going to be very busy.

We love it here. It is better than our first apartment, especially because it has Central Air Conditioning! I love it! We do miss our old ward a lot, we made a lot of friends and will miss seeing them every week. Our new ward has some of our friends in it though, Blake and Becky (Vandyke) Steele, and the cleaning couple here, Scott and Heidi Chavez.

Cindy is almost done with summer term at BYU, then she starts her student teaching in the fall. After that she is done with school! She is going to do her student teaching at Barrett Elementary in American Fork. She is excited but nervous. She will do great!

I am excited to start school at UVU in the fall. I am starting on my Business Management Degree. I will be doing 12 Credits at school and 40 hours a week at Work, so it will be very busy.

I just found out that I will be going to the Dental Trade shows in New York City and Chicago this season! I am sooooooooo excited! Those are the 2 shows that were at the top of my list. I will go to New York on November 28th to December 3rd and Chicago from February 27th to March 2nd. I am excited for Chicago, cause that is where my sister Whitney lives and I think that we will get Cindy a plane Ticket to come with me so we can visit, but we don't know yet.

Anyway, that is what is going on!
