Since I completely blanked last week about adding my 5, I'm doing 10 this week (thus the math problem).
1. The internet has been going out again at our complex. I do not enjoy working with our internet company, because it seems like nothing is ever solved. But Tuesday was one of the busiest internet outage days, and Chad and I left out of town on Wednesday morning, so it
was a good time to escape :).
2. Chad is now in the middle of his trade show in Chicago while I am hanging out in Virginia with my sister Michelle, her husband Roy, and their adorable baby (the reason I came) Abby. It's been pretty fun. We've visited DC a couple of times, so I'll put up all those pictures when I'm done taking them!
3. I miss Chad (a lot), but we'll meet up again on Monday morning to spend the rest of our vacation visiting Chad's sister Whitney (and Brandon and another adorable niece Rachel).
4. I hope I'll get a flight voucher from Delta Airlines.
5. It's not very fun to not have my own make-up, clothes, or toothbrush. Michelle was really generous though.
6. Here's the story of our flight: Chad and I checked in one after another and we found out later that the airline guy had put on the wrong tags, so after our flights, Chad picked up my bag and I picked up his. We immediately gave each other's bags to the Baggage Service people, who sent them on their way. Chad picked up his that night, but I flew into Baltimore, so they said it wouldn't be to the DC airport (much closer to Michelle's apartment) until the next morning. I showed up the next morning and the lady told me her records showed it was still in Chicago, but she would send them a message to get it through Atlanta to DC
sometime, which was time unspecified. So I called the number she gave me and that told me that my bag was in Baltimore. So then I talked to a representative who said it was en route from CINCINATTI!!! So at this point, I wasn't sure if my bag was lost, or in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, or Cincinatti! I was told to call back and when I did several hours later, I was told I would need to wait until they unloaded the plane to even
see if my bag had made it onto the plane! Luckily, Michelle and I had gone to Target and I got new clothes, because I felt so gross after rewearing my airport clothes. The good news is that my bag was on the Cincinatti flight (no idea how it got there) and I got my bag last night. I am now wearing clean clothes that I own. My goodness!
7. Chad got to his hotel and found out that there was some sort of fluke and he ended up with his own hotel room instead of having to share with a roommate. He's on the 29th floor and enjoying all the perks!
8. Abby is so much fun to hang out with. We're still in the warming up stages of our friendship, but we've already established some jokes :). And she's a smart little 1-year-old.
9. I feel like I have done so much in DC, and done so little at the same time. We've seen the Washington Monument and Capitol Building (from a distance), the Department of Treasury (which Roy thought was the White House from the distance until we got up close and saw the sign on it), the George Mason memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Native American museam, the Air and Space museum, and (my favorite) the Metro. We're going to the zoo tomorrow, so I'm pretty excited.
10. I love Chad so much! It's always hard to be away from him (even during the day when he's at work!), but it will be a fun reunion, and I'm excited to tell him about all the stuff I have done. I love you, my schnukums/honey-pie/sweet pea/lover boy/cuteness. Just joking :). I really love you though :)!!!
